Help
How can we help?
The Player, your DAW, credits, licences and selling. Can't find it? Write to create@sidechain.studio. A person reads every email.
01
Install the Player
One free plugin that holds every Sidechain plugin you make or buy.
Quit your DAW. Run the installer, or drag Sidechain Player.vst3 into /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 and Sidechain Player.component into /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components (that one is for Logic and GarageBand). Open your DAW and rescan. It shows up as Sidechain Player, by Sidechain. Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 11 or newer.
Quit your DAW and run the installer (.msi). Installing by hand: copy the Sidechain Player.vst3 folder into C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3, the folder FL Studio and most DAWs scan. Windows 10 (version 1809) or Windows 11, 64-bit.
Put Sidechain Player on a track. It shows a short code. Open sidechain.studio/player/link on any device, sign in and confirm the code. Everything you made or bought shows up in the Player.
Any DAW that loads VST3 or AU: FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Studio One, Cubase, Reaper, Bitwig and more. Pro Tools only loads AAX, so it isn't supported.
Yes. Once a plugin is in your library it keeps working without a connection.
02
My DAW can't find it
Almost always a rescan, or the plugin in a folder the DAW doesn't look in.
Options, Manage plugins, then Find more plugins. Make sure C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 (or /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 on a Mac) is in the list of folders.
Settings, Plug-Ins. Turn on Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders, then Rescan.
Logic uses the AU version (Sidechain Player.component). Open the Plug-in Manager, select Sidechain Player and choose Reset & Rescan Selection.
Rescan from the plug-in settings: Reaper in Preferences, Plug-ins, VST; Studio One in Options, Locations, VST Plug-ins; Cubase in the Plug-in Manager; Bitwig in Settings, Locations.
Quit and reopen the DAW after installing, and check you're on a 64-bit DAW. Then write to create@sidechain.studio with your DAW and system, and we'll sort it out.

Making plugins and credits
Describe it in a sentence. Change anything after.
A new plugin is 10 credits, and your first one on Free is free. Changing the controls is 5 credits, a new look 3 credits, a sound tweak 1 credit after the first 5 on each plugin. Every button shows its price before you tap it.
Renaming, colours, lettering, knob style, presets, moving controls, everything in your store, and playing what you made.
Creator gives you 60 credits · about 6 plugins a month, Pro 200 credits · about 20 plugins. Unused plan credits last one more month. Packs are paid once and never run out: 10 credits for $9, 50 credits for $35, 150 credits for $89.
The Free plan plays your plugin in your browser. To open it in your DAW, get a pack or a plan. Plugins made with a pack stay in your DAW for good.
04
Buying, licences and refunds
Every plugin plays in your browser before you pay.
In your receipt email, and in Purchases when you log in with the same email address. Your plugins are in your library on any device you sign in from.
Yes. If you never opened the plugin in your DAW, ask within 14 days and you get your money back. Reply to your receipt or write to create@sidechain.studio.
Sign the Player in with the email you bought with. If you used a different one, write to us and we'll move it over.
05
Selling from your store
Your own store at yourname.sidechain.studio.
Creator or Pro. On Free you can build your whole store, then publish it with a plan.
Sidechain keeps 20% of each sale on Creator and 15% on Pro. Card processing is on us.
Connect payouts in your dashboard (it's Stripe, about five minutes). Sales go to your Stripe account, and Stripe moves them to your bank on your payout schedule.
What's on sale stays on sale. Putting new plugins on sale needs a plan again.
