- 1Fast attack for controlA fast attack catches peaks for an even vocal. A slower one lets the start of each word punch through.
- 2Watch the gain reductionA few dB on the loud parts is plenty for most vocals. More than that and it starts to sound squashed.
- 3De-ess afterCompression brings up the S sounds. A de-esser after it takes the sting back out.
